Fire-damaged records: $249

The 1973 fire at the NPRC building destroyed millions of records — mostly Army veterans separated 1912–1959 and Air Force veterans separated 1947–1963 with names beginning Hubbard–Z. Replacements for these veterans require a reconstruction process using alternate documents (pay records, hospital records, unit morning reports).

This work is meaningfully harder and the timeline runs 6+ months. We price it at $249 and tell you upfront — no bait-and-switch from $97. If you suspect your records may be fire-damaged, mention it during intake or email help@veterandd214.com first.

Refund policy

When you get your money back.

Guaranteed plan ($147)

If we cannot retrieve your DD214 within 120 days, you receive a full automatic refund. No forms, no fight.

Standard plan ($97)

If you change your mind before we submit to NPRC: full refund minus a $25 processing fee. After submission: non-refundable (we've already done the work).

Delivery issues

If your secure link expires or has a delivery problem, we re-issue immediately at no charge. Not a refund situation.

Document errors

If the DD214 NPRC sends has errors, we work with them on corrections at no additional charge. Some corrections require a separate DD215 process, which we'll explain.

Pricing questions

A few things worth asking.

Is this a subscription?
No. It's a one-time charge — either $97 or $147 — for one DD214 retrieval. There are no recurring fees of any kind.
Why does the Guaranteed plan cost $50 more?
The guarantee adds real cost for us: we have to absorb refund risk for cases that don't resolve within 120 days. Most cases do resolve in that window, but the math has to work for the small percentage that don't.
Can I upgrade from Standard to Guaranteed later?
Yes, up until we submit to NPRC. After submission, plans are locked. Email us to upgrade.
Do you offer discounts for VSOs or funeral homes?
Not at launch. As we grow, we may offer B2B referral pricing — contact us if you're interested.
What about multiple DD214s for one family?
Each request is priced separately. We can group billing if you're ordering several at once — email us first so we can set that up.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit cards, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay. We don't accept checks or money orders.
